FOUNDRY IN MISSION

  Day of Service

For 185 years, Foundry United Methodist Church has actively served our neighbors in the nation’s capital and around the world. Our commitment to mission and community service has been steadfast, even in a city known for transience and change.

Mission is a powerful component of Foundry's life as a congregation. With Christ as our example, we reach out to all of God's children. One of our congregation's central goals is to "create engaged community through inclusion and caring, and to transform the world through active service and prophetic leadership."

Our faith calls us to active service in our community, as well as to advocate and organize with people seeking justice in their lives.

We feed the homeless, fight to end homelessness, teach English to immigrants, give prisoners books to read, rebuild the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast and cook meals for Washingtonians with HIV/AIDS. All told we have more than a dozen active mission activities, and we're always looking for more ways to serve.

Through our service, we hope to transform our community, our country and the world to more closely resemble God’s kingdom.

We hope you will volunteer to join us as we serve. The links on the left will give you an overview of our mission activities. Feel free to contact one of us to answer any of your questions or to sign up for an activity.  We hope to see you soon!
