LGBTQ Retreat

You’re invited to join us for our 2017 LGBTQ+ Retreat as we consider the ways that our relationships, both with ourselves and with others, give us the strength we need to be who God has called and created us to be. Utilizing a variety of biblical, theological, and community organizing principals, we’ll work together to strengthen our relationships with one another and with God. Cost: $85
(covers the cost of materials, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on Saturday); housing and other meals are the responsibility of individual participants. Scholarships (partial and full) are available by emailing Pastor Will Green at wgreen@foundryumc.org.

Reservations:  A limited number of rooms are available at the Atlantic Sands (800-422-0600) at the group rate of $130 plus taxes, per night.  Attendees may not be able to get that rate once the block of rooms have been sold or after the deadline.  When booking use ID 7939 Foundry United Methodist Church. The deadline is March 20, 2017.

Transportation:   In addition to hotel reservations, transportation and any other accommodations are the responsibility of the participant.  We will attempt to arrange ride and/or room share if we are notified in advance. You can indicated need for transportation assistance by emailing Will Green or during the online registration process.

Tentative Itinerary

Friday, April 21st, 2016

6:30pm: Depart from The Atlantic Sands for optional meal at The Purple Parrot (134 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971)

8:30: Welcome/Orientation/Small Group Time
                 --Worship approx. 15 minutes; set theme and tone for weekend.
                 --Small groups gather for introductory exercises/sharing. Intro of spiritual
                   autobiographies

9:45pm: Evening Prayer

10pm: Social Time

7:30am: Continental Breakfast Served

9am: Morning Prayer

9:30am: Strength for the Journey: A Theology of Story”[1]

10:30: Break

10:45: Small Group Conversations (lunch served at The Atlantic Sands Hotel, Noon)

1pm: Large Group: How Stories Change the World[2]

2:45: Break

3:15: Small Groups (practice telling compelling stories)

5:15: Evening Prayer and Communion

6pm: Large-Group Dinner (cost covered in registration)

7:30: Evening Prayer

7:45: Free time
