Meet Foundry’s New Director of Connecting Ministries

Tuesday, February 23, 2016

Will GreenRev. Will Ed Green is a life-long United Methodist and a Southerner in diaspora who originally hails from Hope, Arkansas. He originally fell in love with ministry watching his pastor serve communion, exclaiming loudly from the pew that he "wanted to feed people that way."

Since that time, Will has served the church through a variety of district, conference, and denominational avenues, including as the pastor of Overcup and Cleveland United Methodist Churches while a student at Hendrix College; the co-chair of the Division on Ministries with Young People; and a representative on the Reconciling Ministries Network Board of Directors. While in seminary, Will served as the pastor of Granville Avenue United Methodist Church, and upon his graduation in 2013 began his tenure as Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights, IL. Additionally, Will has recently served as the Worship Coordinator and Team Leader for the Northern Illinois Annual Conference.

Guided by an abiding love for Jesus, Will is passionate about the work of intentional hospitality, justice, and extending the radical love of God to all people. In his spare time, Will loves hiking, refinishing furniture, and traveling with his partner Philip.

Will is a provisional elder with the Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church. Our episcopal leader, Bishop Marcus Matthews is appointing Will to serve at Foundry. The appointment will be effective July 1, 2016.

We welcome Pastor Will to the Foundry Staff.
