Rev. Gaines-Cirelli's Position Article on the Sexuality Debate Featured in This Month's UM Connection

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

In this month's United Methodist Connection, a monthly newletter published by the Baltimore-Washington Conference, Foundry Senior Pastor Rev. Ginger Gaines-Cirelli affirms support for LGBTQ persons, grounded by the faith tradition that calls for us, as Christians and United Methodists, to stay at the table and seek reconciliation and justice in trying times. "People who know or observe my ministry are aware that I believe LGBTQ+ persons are “wonderfully made” (Psalms 139:14) in God’s image and are beloved children of God," writes Pastor Gaines-Cirelli. "I firmly believe that LGBTQ+ persons belong in the church at every level of leadership and bring unique gifts to the work of ministry. I believe that marriages between LGBTQ+ persons are the same high, holy calling as my own."
