As we prepare to celebrate All Saints Sunday on Nov. 7, we invite you to email JPEG or PDF pictures of loved ones you are remembering this year to allsaints@foundryumc.org for inclusion in our great cloud of witnesses worship display. Please send in your photos by Nov. 2. For more information, please contact Pastor Will at will@foundryumc.org.
The Caring Congregation Care Retreat is an opportunity for lay leaders and care ministries in different churches across the district and conference to learn more about how to give care during this pandemic season. This will be a two-day retreat that will be held both in-person and virtually. Register for the Caring Congregation Retreat and learn more here.
Join us online and in person on November 11 at 6:30 p.m. for our second annual Kirk Symposium lecture featuring Dr. Chris Myers Asch and Dr. George Derek Musgrove. Drs. Asch and Musgrove will be discussing their book "Chocolate City: A History of Race and Democracy in the Nation's Capital," followed by a book signing in our Community Commons. Learn more and register here. Registration for this event is encouraged, but not required.
Parking passes for the Colonial Parking Garage — located on P Street between 16th and 17th Streets NW — are now available for purchase. The Colonial Parking Garage is open on Sundays only from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m
Foundry continues to work with Colonial Parking to identify a mutually beneficial and long-term solution that would include Wednesday evenings.
Foundry needs a volunteer to act as our ESL program coordinator. It's rewarding work with no experience necessary. If you’d like to help, email Pastor Ben Roberts at ben@foundryumc.org or Jackie Wright at jackie@foundryumc.org.
Our Family Ministries department is in need of volunteers! Our amazing Foundry youth are in need of some youth leaders, and our Childcare Center is in need of some volunteers to love on our Foundry Kids. If you are interested in hanging out on Sunday nights with the Foundry youth or serving in the Foundry Childcare Center, please let Pastor K.C. know. Email kc@foundryumc.org.
Christ House is one of the few dedicated medical spaces in the District for unhoused men. Foundry's been working with Christ House for more than 30 years. During the more strict periods of COVID protocols, we had to put meal preparation at Christ House on hold. But now Christ House is ready to receive fully-vaccinated, masked volunteers. Our team would be no more than three volunteers per-session for the near future. If you'd like to help out, join the group or email Pastor Ben.
