Weaving Connections workshop

Aliana Grace Bailey, the artist who helped facilitate our painted Sanctuary banners in 2018, is returning to Foundry to host a workshop! Workshop participants will be introduced to the spiritual foundation of the artist's artmaking process, experience the basics of weaving, and explore themes of togetherness. Drawing inspiration from prompts, conversations, and various colors and textures, participants will contribute to a collaborative weaving on a loom. Learn more and register for the worskhop at foundryumc.org/weaving.

Disciple I is a 34-week study (September 2022-May 2023) that provides an overview of the entire Bible. Divided equally between Old and New Testaments, it emphasizes the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. The Disciple I Study Manual guides reading assignments and provides space for notes, thoughts and questions. This class will meet each Wednesday evening from 6:45–8:15 p.m. beginning September 14, 2022 through May 31, 2023 with breaks for holidays. Learn more and register for Disciple I at foundryumc.org/disciple1.

Foundry Family Ministries invites you to join us at the beautiful West River United Methodist Camp for a time of rest, recreation and fun. All are invited — whether you are a single, couple, parent, non-parent, grandparent, or friend, you are welcome! Accommodations are provided in lodges with air conditioning and bathrooms. Campers need to bring a sleeping bag, towel, toiletries, and a snack to share. Registration is now open.

Save the date for our upcoming parenting seminar, "Parenting a Liberated Child" on Saturday, September 10. The seminar will be led by RebeccaStevens-Walter, an intergenerational worship consultant and children’s liberation theologian. Our program will last from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with lunch to follow. Registration to come!

On Sunday, September 11, join us for the return of Sunday School, Children's worship during both services, and the continuation of our child care and children's message during worship. Our rising third graders will be given their third grade Bibles, and we will celebrate the beginning of a new school year. For children ages birth through four, our child care center opens 8:45 a.m. and closes 15 minutes after the second service (around 12:30 p.m.). And in between services at 10 a.m., we will once again have Sunday School for children ages pre-K through middle school.
