all things foundry february 21-27, 2022

Foundry’s Sacred Resistance ministry team invites you to join the virtual Washington Interfaith Network 2022 Election Season Action on Sunday, March 20 at 3 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom, and an agenda built by listening to vulnerable neighbors on issues of displacement, affordable housing, safety, climate, and careers will be presented to candidates for DC Mayor, Council Chair, Attorney General and Council-Members. Whether you are a DC resident or not, we invite you to learn more and push for change through this unique opportunity to stand together in faithful public witness for a more just future. Our goal is for 300 Foundry members and friends to join us!

This year's Lenten Devotional, titled All Things New: Hope in the Time of Pandemic, will explore our multi-pandemic experiences and the tensions that exist between the world we hope for and the world in which we currently reside. Bringing together voices of Foundry members and others from across our connection, this devotional is a resource for all those longing to hold in tension the reality of grief and deep longing for hope.

You can register to receive the devotional one of three ways:

  1. A printed copy, which will be mailed to your home prior to Ash Wednesday
  2. An electronic copy (PDF), which will be mailed to you prior to Ash Wednesday and available online at foundryumc.org
  3. A daily email containing the devotion and prayer assigned for that day

Discipleship in the Methodist tradition affirms that there is always more work for God to do in the human heart. A Disciple's Heart attempts to reclaim and, in a sense, reinterpret for today John Wesley’s understanding of this transformation of the heart, which he called “Christian perfection,” with the goal of equipping participants to continue to grow into the likeness of God’s love in Christ. This course will be taught both Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings beginning in late April.
