The IFC’s annual Unity Walk is a public demonstration of love and support for all who live in our region. Walk with participants of all ages to visit different houses of worship and spiritual centers in upper Northwest DC to learn about and experience diverse faith traditions. There will be new opportunities to engage through moderated speed dialogues, family activities, comedy, music, and sharing of tasty cultural treats. Come by yourself or bring friends to celebrate the wonderful diversity that exists in our region. Learn more and register here.

Following our 11:15 a.m. service on Sunday, Sept. 18, we invite you to join Rev. Ben Roberts in the Community Commons for some reflections on unity and the ecumenical movement. Pastor Ben will be reporting back following a two-week trip to the World Council of Churches headquarters in Geneva, the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey Switzerland, and Taizé in France.
On Saturday, October 8, save the date for our Fall 2022 Great Day of Service — which this year will be a Green Day of Service! We will be partnering with Casey Trees, Rock Creek Conservancy, and the Potomac Conservancy to remove invasive plants, plant new native plants, and clean up the Potomac River! If the outdoors isn't your thing, you can volunteer to help with the kick-off breakfast at Foundry. Registration will open soon.
Update from Rise Against Hunger

Good news! We just received an update from Rise Against Hunger that the meals we packed during our Spring GDOS have been shipped to East Timor, a small island country in the eastern Lesser Sunda Islands, at the southern extreme of the Malay Archipelago. Thank you for helping us making a difference in our wider human family.

Volunteers needed: Sustainable Coffee Hour
As part of Foundry's commitment to sustainability and caring for God's creation, Foundry will use ceramic/stoneware mugs and silverware at our Sunday coffee hour — instead of disposable products. We are looking for volunteers to help transport these items to the dishwasher at the end of each coffee hour. Please email Jackie at jwright@foundryumc.org if you are interested.
Foundry’s ID Ministry will once again be serving our community on the first and third Saturdays of the month this Fall — and we need volunteers! If you are interested in a very meaningful and life-changing volunteer opportunity, please email  idministry@foundryumc.org.
Please join fellow Foundry members the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. until noon at Christ House! Located at 1717 Columbia Road NW in Adam’s Morgan, Christ House is a 24-hour residential medical facility for un-housed people. If you are interested, contact Chelsey Jones at christhouse@foundryumc.org.

Sandwich 1,000 meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:30–8 p.m. in the Big Kitchen at Foundry to make bologna and cheese sandwiches for Martha's Table and McKenna's Wagon. If you are interested in joining our email list, please email your name and availability to sandwich1000@foundryumc.org.
