Family Ministries Update: September 8, 2023

September 08, 2023

Hello Foundry Families!

Just wanted to send some information before we kick off Fall Family Ministry programming at Foundry!

Church Center App:

If you haven’t already downloaded the Church Center App or haven’t made a profile for your family on https://foundryumc.churchcenter.com/home, I want to encourage you to use the fastest and easiest way to stay connected at Foundry.

We also use your family’s Church Center profile when checking your children in and out of Sunday School, Children’s Worship, and the Nursery. We want our Foundry families to go into Church Center online or in the app and add their child’s academic year ’23-’24 grade level to your child’s profile.

**If you want your check-in/check-out process to go as quick and as smooth as possible on Sunday mornings, then you’re going to want to make or update your profile!

Saturday Open House:

Tomorrow 9/9, we will be having an Open House at 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Norman & Frances Prince Fellowship Hall, for families to get information on this year’s programming, meet with Sunday School Teachers (we have many new faces to Foundry Sunday School) and learn more about children’s worship! This Continental style refreshments will be served.

Sunday Morning Check-In/Out:

We ask for your grace & patience on Sunday as we direct all families to their assigned classrooms and areas. Again, we will be implementing check-in and check-out with all children who attend Children’s Programming at Foundry.

Sunday School Starts at 10:10 a.m.

  • Children are allowed to bring their snacks from Coffee Hour (in the Community Commons) upstairs to Sunday School. For toddlers and Children in Nursery-Kindergarten, snack is provided in their class.
  • Sunday School lasts for 45mins.
  • Foundry is a nut-free facility. All other dietary restrictions need to be communicated in email to Ms. Natalie at nharvey@foundryumc.org

For Sunday School/Children’s Worship check-in:

  • Your family will visit the Foundry Family Ministries Station (located in the Kirk Welcome Center/Lobby)
  • You’ll follow the instructions on the iPad.
  • Print out a name tag sticker for each of your children, placing the name tag on the child, keeping the number tag for yourself.
  • You may then drop them off at the grade/age-appropriate classroom. (Doors are also labeled)

For Nursery Check-in, you may either check-in at the Family Ministry’s kiosk/desk or at Nursery.

Parent Pick Up/Check-out from Sunday School is 10:55 a.m.

Show the teachers that your number tags, matches with your child’s name tag.

  • IF you are leaving Foundry after Sunday School, please communicate that with your child’s Sunday School Teacher so that your child’s name tag is removed before existing the building.
  • IF you are attending the 11:15 service, please match the number, but leave the name tag on your child and we (Children’s Worship Volunteers/Staff) will remove the tag when we return your children back to the Main service during offering.

Classroom/grade Assignments are as follows:

Pre K3 - 207
PreK 4 & K -206
1st & 2nd - 208
3rd & 4th - 205
5th & 6 - 204

For Children’s Worship

Children will gather in the front of the sanctuary (when announced) and leave with Ms. Natalie and volunteers for Children’s worship. Our goal is to return you child back to you during offering time. OR you can Pick-up your Children at the end of service in the Norman and Frances Prince Fellowship Hall, upstairs.

Thank you taking this time to read up on Fall Family Ministries programming. If you have comments, questions or concerns you can email families@foundryumc.org!
