The main things to note:
About This Year's Count
The 2022 PIT Count will look similar to last year. We are committed to the health and safety of everyone participating in the count. This year, we are therefore not hosting a kick off event the night of the Count and are requiring that all individuals participating in the count show proof of vaccination. TCP will again be hosting virtual trainings and providing PPE so everyone can safely complete the count.
Who: Outreach teams, community service providers, TCP employees, DHS employees, and community volunteers. All individuals participating in the count must show proof of vaccination.
What: Annual Point-in-Time Count. Check out TCP’s and HUD’s websites for more information.
Where: The entire District will be covered for the count, neighborhood team leaders will determine a location to meet with their team while maintaining social distance at the start of the count.
When: Wednesday, January 26, 2022 (if there is inclement weather, we will conduct the count Thursday, January 27, 2022). 9 p.m.-2 a.m.
Why: Secures federal funding and allows the District to have a better understanding of homelessness so resources are used more efficiently and Homeward DC goals are met.
